'Find the explorer'

In This new competition we have used the same mechanics as those used in the Golden Key puzzle, so if you work out how to do this, it may help in your quest for the Golden Key.

It is a much simpler competition, all you have to do is identify the character in the book we are asking about and use your research skills on the web to find the location we are looking for.

It has been established that once the identity of the character has been established all necessary information can be freely obtained from the internet using major search engines.

We will launch new characters at regular intervals and run existing characters until they are found. All winners and prizes will be displayed on the site, unless the winner wishes their details to remain private.

Please Note : The First Correct Answer Received is the Winner.

Enter 'Find The Explorer'.

character 1: Has Been Solved

We wish you to identify the real life character refered to as 'R DE' from the Golden Key ebook and give us the location at which he is said to have been born and spent most of his early years.

You caught us off guard by solving the first puzzle so quickly. We will post a 'harder puzzle' here shortly.

The exact location can be defind by UK Post Code or National Grid Reference by using the Ordnance Survey Get-A-Map service. Use the link below, find the map of the location you think is correct and click on the spot. The exact location will then be displayed under the map. For further help using Get-A-Map service see here.
