1. The Website has been updated to provide greater help, information and ease of use.
2. A new competition called 'Find The Explorer' has been introduced. It uses some of the code mechanics mentioned in the Golden Key book. This has the added benefit of helping you understand how the Golden Key book works as well as offering additional prizes. |
The Golden Key was a real key buried in 1982 somewhere in the British Isles. The lock it fitted belonged to a safety deposit box at a bank in the UK containing £50,000 in cash. The author Don Shaw wrote the book ‘The Golden Key’, an account of a sixteenth century voyage around the world, which contained all the clues necessary to find the key. The key was never found and now, over twenty two years later the competition is being re-launched and the book is available to download from this website. To claim the top prize you need to tell us where you think the key is buried along with ten solved clues from the book to claim the prize.
It is now possible to find the burial site of The Golden key without leaving your home and using the Internet. All the information required to find the Golden Key is available online and it is not necessary to live in the UK to find the site of the key. |
It is intended that there will be other treasure hunts to be entered which will give further clues as to the location of the Golden Key. To claim the top prize you need to tell us where you think the key was buried along with 10 solved clues.
